The Child Advocacy Centre (CAC) project of Kelowna is searching for a rockstar fundraiser to help guide the future of fund raising for this developing community resource. We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, professional relationship manager to develop an annual programs strategy and to build innovative, sustainable fund-raising opportunities to support the development of this important project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Raise funds and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets
  • Develop a strong, sustainable foundation for annual fund-raising program for the CAC
  • Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them
  • Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for the CAC project
  • Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities
  • Direct the planning and coordination of events meant to raise funds and coordinate activities of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution
  • Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved
  • Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor stewardship
  • Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities
  • Develop a strong diversified grant strategy

Requirements

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Post secondary training in Non-Profit Management / Fund Development
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication abilities and outgoing, yet poised personality
  • Minimum 5 years of dedicated fundraising experience with proven track record of success
  • Quick thinker and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to speak publicly
  • Self starter with a passion for working in a collaborative setting
  • Knowledge of research and prospecting techniques
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and CRM software
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of initiative and professionalism
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and respond positively to change
  • Professional fund-raising designation
  • Grant writing and fund development experience an asset
