COMMUNITY LEADER – Skyview Ranch, Calgary

If you answered yes to these questions, we have the job for you! Highstreet is looking to grow our Operations team with a full time Community Leader (Resident Manager) reporting to the VP of Operations and working from our Apartment building in North East Calgary, at our Skyview Ranch location.


Our goal is to own and operate $200 million of net zero real estate by 2024 by leveraging technology, create low cost energy while saving resources, energy and time.


Highstreet is a Kelowna, BC based real estate development company that primarily develops, builds, and operates condo quality market rental apartments. We are an established company with a proven track record, having completed over 2,700 apartments and townhomes as well as a hotel since 2005.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Community Leader, your role will be to lead the multi-family community, while aligning Highstreet's values with creating a visibly unique community that tenants are proud to call home.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leading a team of like-minded individuals
  • Screening of tenants and leasing
  • Maintaining the look and feel of the community by enforcing the community promises
  • Resolve tenant disputes
  • Eviction of tenants that do not share Highstreet’s values
  • Rent collection
  • Maintenance of accurate leases and financial records on a regular reporting schedule
  • Accountable for managing Community budgets and reviewing financial information to ensure all operations remain on budget
  • Posting updates to the community Facebook group
  • Leading community-based initiatives that support the local area (ex. charity drives, local community teams, and other shelters).
  • Event organization and tenant engagement
  • Maintain Highstreet's standard of appearance, upkeep and maintenance within your community
  • Regularly being on call during weekends and evenings

Requirements

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

While identifying with our values, the ideal candidate must have a strong customer service and administrative background. Also, the following characteristics are essential within the Community Leader role:

  • Thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Be a team player, be self-motivated, and efficient
  • Assertiveness, follow through, and organizational skills with respect to paperwork is essential
  • Being a self-starter who requires little direction while keeping a strong focus on community
  • Possessing a can-do attitude to a variety of tasks and difficult situations
  • Keen negotiator with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

Required experience:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Property Management Certificate an asset
  • Strong understanding of costs and financial management associated with properties
  • Knowledge of the Condo Act, rules and bylaws
  • Strong customer service and administrative background
  • Technically savvy, and proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with property management software a bonus (Yardi)
  • General handyman skills a plus
  • Good physical conditioning and stamina
  • Willingness to work outside as required
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Satisfactory criminal record check
