Swagman, based in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, is an originator of the hitch style bike rack. From their humble beginnings in the 90’s, Swagman has continued their evolution to redefine outdoor products. That small bike rack company now includes numerous ground-breaking designs in the North American Bicycle, RV and Automobile markets. Swagman continues to grow and progress in product design, innovation, and great people!

Swagman is currently looking for a Director of Operations to join their small, energetic and dynamic team based out of their Penticton B.C. Office. This hands-on position will be broad in scope - supporting strategic business planning, executing on strategy, and day-to-day operational leadership.

Working under the guidance of the President, this highly efficient self-starter will be bright, well-rounded, with a range of interests, skills, and variety of experiences. They will be directly responsible for supply chain management, quality control, operational efficiencies, IT operations, as well as product packaging, labelling and documentation oversight.


Requirements

This role requires a pragmatic, tenacious business visionary, with a passion and talent for collaboration and relationship building. Our successful Director of Operations will have experience and proven background with the following:

  • Supply Chain Management Professional Designation;
  • A Business Administration Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or comparable combination of education and experience;
  • A proven track record in successful operations management, with full supply chain management responsibility; ideally in a manufacturing and distribution-based company;
  • Experience with trademark and patent application and management;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, B2B, and ERP platforms;
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to prepare and analyze financial forecasts and reports;
  • Negotiation, and marketing skills essential;
  • An ability to achieve results through strong relationship building and collaboration with suppliers, service providers, cross functional teams and other stakeholders;
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy as well as sound judgment and decision-making skills;
  • The ability to formulate and execute policies, programs and objectives to promote and ensure accountability, transparency, sustainability and profitability;
  • Lives and breathes continuous improvement and best practices;
  • Ability to travel as needed to represent the organization;
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Penticton B.C. area;
  • Valid Driver’s license and Criminal Background Check required.
