Underfoot Flooring is a busy quality flooring showroom located in Oliver, BC. looking to add a Retail Sales Associate to the team!

Join Underfoot Flooring as a Retail Sales Associate and you will be working with an experienced and welcoming team of mentors, willing to share their knowledge in this dynamic industry. While being a sponge for knowledge, you will also be helping customers, and providing administrative, reception and sales support to the team.  

Who are You?

Our ideal person demonstrates initiative, is keen to learn new skills and product knowledge, and has an interest in decorating or interior design. Good listening skills, attention to detail, physically fit, a friendly personable style and a “can do” attitude will fit well in our team.  Aptitude for math and solid computer skills including MS Office wouldn't hurt either.  

Key Functions and Responsibilities

  •  Keep showroom customer ready; tidy and clean 
  • Greet customers and help identify their requirements 
  • Advise customers on quality, style, and value of products
  • Assist customers with selections and provide insight & suggestions 
  • Open and close store performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips,  balancing cash drawers, and making deposits
  • Create and post invoices
  • Place and receive orders, maintaining an accurate inventory count
  • Arrange merchandise in display areas, and storage warehouse
  • Assist with accounts payable, receivables, and year end 


  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service or sales experience; experience in the flooring industry is a bonus! 
  • Keen to learn new product and process knowledge in the flooring industry 
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritization, time management, etc. 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced busy work environment while handling interruptions 
  • Aptitude for math and calculating area 
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office – typing speed of 40-65 wpm 
  • An interest in decorating or interior design an asset 
  • Effective and professional communication skills – verbal, written 
  • Self-motivated 
  • Reliable
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs required 

We have great hours!  Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional Saturday coverage needed.
